Come out to our LXiA March Networking Mixer & Guest Speaker Q&A with Creator and Producer Niki López. The Q&A will take place in the theater at Nickelodeon Animation Studio, and immediately be followed by a Networking Mixer in the lobby. Refreshments and Food will be provided by LatinX in Animation.

The Q&A will focus on Niki López's career path as a Production Intern at Nickelodeon and transitioning from Production to Color Styling, and developing and pitching her own original show ideas. This talk will be geared to those interested in learning from both sides of production and artistic roles, and balancing that knowledge as a creator and producer.

There are two LXiA EventBrite RSVP Tickets - Free and Donation. If you would like to donate to LatinX in Animation, you can RSVP and donate via EventBrite when registering. Minimum donation is $1. Donations help LXiA continue to plan events and maintain events free for all. If you prefer not to donate, then you can RSVP for free.

Nickelodeon Animation Studio is a closed studio. Must RSVP via EventBrite in order to guarantee entry to the event. No guests allowed. Must bring valid ID the day of the event to be allowed entry through the security gate.

Niki López

Niki López is the creator and producer of Nick Jr.’s Santiago of the Seas, an action-adventure series that follows eight-year-old Santiago Montes, a brave and kind-hearted pirate, as he embarks on daring adventures in a fantastical Caribbean world. López was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She attended Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, FL to earn a BFA in Illustration. Her animation career began as a Nicktern for Nickelodeon Animation Studios, where she got hired shortly after as a production assistant on “Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness” and then as a color designer on “The Fairly Odd-Parents”, “Harvey Beaks”, and “Glitch Techs”. In 2018, she was selected as one of Variety’s 10 Animators to Watch. In her free time, Niki enjoys dabbling in aromatherapy and drinking tea while sharing ghost stories to anyone willing to humor her.

4th Annual Ground Zero Animation Expo 2019

LatinX in Animation is excited to announce that we will be an official sponsor for the 4th Annual Ground Zero Animation Expo 2019.

Ground Zero Animation Expo is an annual event held in Orange County, CA. For the 2019 4th Annual GZA Expo it will be held at The Boys and Girls Club of Stanton, and will take place June 8th and June 9th from 10AM - 6PM.

The Expo caters to those interested in breaking into the animation industry or anyone who appreciates animated films, shows, and shorts. The event also focuses on all parts of the industry from illustration, publishing, stop motion, fabricating and claymation/puppetry to character design, 3D modeling, prop/background design and much more.

Industry professionals are there to share all day at their tables, through panels, demos, lectures, workshop and during unique one on interactions. Ground Zero is a grassroots show that has a big impact.
